Political science × Psychology
Onno Steenweg
Welcome to my personal website!
I am a second-year PhD researcher in Political Science at Trinity College Dublin, with an interdisciplinary background in political science and psychology.
My research explores how political attitudes develop and change throughout adulthood, with a particular interest in the cognitive and psychological mechanisms underlying these changes. Methodologically, I focus on quantitative approaches, especially experimental methods and the analysis of survey and panel data. My broader research interests include political sociology, as well as biological and personality-psychological influences on political attitudes and behaviour.
I hold a master's degree in Political Science and bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Psychology. I studied at Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt Universität Berlin and Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
